If you ask, Why A&G Foundation? Our response is, Why not? Having collectively helped hundreds through mentoring, providing information, connecting people to resources, and tutoring – we felt the need to make it official. We want to continue to pour into in our community and expand the work that we do.
For over 20+ years that our family has lived in the United States, we have each had an opportunity to engage and develop others. Through different non-profit organizations and churches, we have leveraged our leadership skills to serve the community.
Our mission is to be the bridge that provides access to knowledge, resources, and opportunities to underrepresented communities. Our vision is to enable members of the community to reach their fullest potential – however they define it!
Named after my mother and father, Almaz and Getahun – A&G Foundation is built on the values that my family and I have made the cornerstone of lives.
Our Values
Empowerment – We want to empower others and create the bridge to knowledge, resources and opportunities so that people can change their lives for the better.
Connection – Many of the opportunities that are available (in academics and careers) are based on relationship with others. We want to act as the hub – to connect the community.
Integrity – As leaders we promise to lead with integrity and always do what is best for the community that we are serving.
Service – Giving back is core to us as a family! We want to serve the community but more importantly we want to empower those in the community to serve each other.
Growth – One’s growth doesn’t have to come at the withering of another’s growth. When each of us grow to reach our “fullest potential,” the broader community wins.

Volunteer: Take some time and share expertise with others (i.e. Write a piece for the blog, let us know if you are open to 1:1 sessions with students, etc.)
Donate: Financial support goes a long way to support the digital platforms we utilize and our abilities to host virtual and in-personal events in the future.
